Polling is underway for bye-elections in three Assembly constituencies in Bihar, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Voting is taking place for the Bankipur constituency in Bihar, Manjalpur in Gujarat and Datia in Madhya Pradesh.
According to the Election Commission, voter turnout in the Bankipur Assembly constituency in Patna was 11.50 per cent till 11 AM. In Gujarat’s Manjalpur constituency, voter turnout stood at 14.27 per cent, while in Datia, Madhya Pradesh, it was recorded at 32.53 per cent.
In Gujarat, voting is underway peacefully across 260 polling stations for the bye-election to the Manjalpur Assembly constituency in Vadodara. Over 2.19 lakh voters will decide the electoral outcome between BJP candidate Satish Patel and Congress candidate Bhikhabhai Rabari. The bye-election was necessitated by the death of long-time BJP MLA Yogesh Patel, who had represented the Manjalpur Assembly constituency multiple times.
Polling will continue till 6 PM.
