According to police sources, officers from West Police Station conducted the operation late Wednesday night after receiving specific intelligence about ongoing drug trafficking activities near the school premises. The accused, identified as Bunty Nayek and Sujit Roy, both residents of Radhanagar, were taken into custody on the spot.
Police officials revealed that the duo had allegedly been active in the area for an extended period, supplying heroin and other banned substances to local youths. Their operations reportedly exploited vulnerable sections of society, raising serious concerns among residents and authorities alike.
Acting on the tip-off, police teams initiated discreet surveillance to confirm the movement patterns and activities of the suspects. Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee described the arrests as a crucial breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking.
