In a social media post, Mr Modi paid tribute to Indian Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and said that his legacy continues to inspire generations. He added that from grassroots programmes that nurture young talent to creating world-class facilities, the country’s sporting landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation. Mr Modi also highlighted that the government remains committed to supporting athletes, building infrastructure and making India a global hub for sporting excellence.
