Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the world is not just watching India but is counting on India. Addressing the India-Japan Economic Forum in Tokyo, Mr Modi highlighted that Japan has always been an important partner in India’s development journey, from metro to manufacturing and start-ups to semiconductors.
He said 40 billion dollars have been invested by Japanese companies in India. He highlighted that India is one of the most promising destinations as capital does not just grow but it multiplies in the country. He asserted that India has political and economic stability and there is transparency in policies. He stated that India will soon become the third largest economy in the world. Prime Minister Modi stated that Japan is a tech powerhouse and India is a talent powerhouse. He added that his government has emphasized on ease of doing business and a single digital window approval system has been arranged for business. He said Japan’s excellence and India’s scale can create a perfect partnership. He also emphasised on skill development and people to people ties. He highlighted that a shared work force will lead to shared prosperity.
