Leaders from all eight North-eastern states hailed PM Modi as a “true son of Mother India” on his 75th birthday, praising his visionary leadership, welfare initiatives, and inclusive policies that have transformed the region’s growth and development.

Governors, Chief Ministers, and Members of Parliament from all eight North-eastern states came together on Wednesday to extend warm greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday. In their heartfelt messages, they described him as a “true son of Mother India” and praised his visionary leadership that has transformed governance, infrastructure, and social development across the region.

Nationwide Celebrations and Initiatives

The Prime Minister marked his birthday by launching two major nationwide initiatives from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh — the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan and the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah campaign. Both initiatives emphasize women’s health, nutrition, and family empowerment, resonating strongly with the government’s mission of inclusive development. Governors, Chief Ministers, and leaders from the Northeast virtually attended the event.

Additionally, a fortnight-long Swachhata Hi Seva campaign was rolled out across all Northeastern states as a tribute to PM Modi’s emphasis on cleanliness, service, and people’s participation in governance. States like Assam also initiated special programmes under the banner of Seva Saptah, including health camps, blood donation drives, plantation campaigns, and welfare initiatives for tuberculosis patients.

Assam’s Tribute: Seva Parmo Dharma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hailed the Prime Minister as the “visionary of the era” and India’s “resounding voice on the global stage.” Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he offered prayers to Maa Kamakhya and Srimanta Shankaradev for the Prime Minister’s long life, health, and energy.

Sarma emphasized that the state would dedicate the week to Seva Parmo Dharma — the principle of service as the highest duty. “From mega health camps and plantation drives to blood donation, honouring young talents, and supporting TB patients, Assam joins the nation in celebrating the Prime Minister’s vision,” he said.

Tripura: A Yug Purush of India

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha shared an emotional tribute, describing PM Modi as the “yug purush” (man of the era) and “guiding star” of the nation. Saha praised initiatives such as Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat, calling them love letters to the nation’s future. He prayed to Maa Tripura Sundari to bless the Prime Minister with strength and wisdom, saying, “Every step you take, every policy you craft, is a sacred flame igniting hope and pride in every Indian soul.”

Arunachal Pradesh: Connecting the Periphery to the Nation

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that under PM Modi’s leadership, the state was no longer on the periphery but firmly integrated into India’s growth story. He highlighted the strides made in connectivity, health, and education while maintaining respect for cultural heritage.

Khandu added: “Your focus on infrastructure, sustainable development, and cultural preservation is transforming lives. On behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, I pray for your continued good health and wisdom.”

Voices from Across the Northeast

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, in his message, wished PM Modi good health, happiness, and continued wisdom, while Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma lauded the Prime Minister’s “unwavering commitment” to the nation’s growth and his personal mission to achieve a Viksit Bharat.

Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba also extended warm greetings, praising the Prime Minister’s tireless dedication and compassion. Biren Singh wrote: “Your guidance and vision remain a beacon of strength for our nation.”

From Sikkim, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang hailed PM Modi as a leader who embodies Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. He said Modi’s leadership has inspired confidence among Indians and strengthened the nation’s march toward progress. “The people of India take immense pride in your leadership,” Tamang stated.

A Regional Outpouring of Gratitude

Across all eight states, Governors and leaders joined in expressing admiration and gratitude for PM Modi’s leadership, acknowledging his focus on inclusive development and his efforts to bring the Northeast into the national mainstream.

The messages reflected not only political solidarity but also the deep cultural and emotional bonds shared between the region and the Prime Minister. Leaders unanimously credited Modi’s vision for bridging gaps, empowering communities, and ensuring that the Northeast is a vital part of India’s developmental journey.

A True Son of Mother India

In describing him as a “true son of Mother India,” Northeastern leaders emphasized that PM Modi’s life has been devoted to the nation’s progress, unity, and welfare. Their tributes underscored his role as a unifying figure whose vision continues to inspire generations across India.
