Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha this afternoon to attend the state-level function at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar to commemorate the completion of one year of the first BJP government in Odisha led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over 18,600 crore rupees on the occasion. These projects cover critical sectors including drinking water, irrigation, agricultural and health infrastructure, rural roads and bridges, sections of national highways, and a few railway projects. Several Union Ministers, state ministers, MPs and MLAs of Odisha, besides party workers from all the 147 assembly segments in the state, will take part in the anniversary celebrations of the Odisha government. The state government has declared a holiday in all the schools in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in the wake of the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit.

Akashvani Correspondent reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold a roadshow and participate in a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ soon after he arrives at the Biju Patnaik International Airport at Bhubaneswar this afternoon. The roadshow and ‘Tiranga Yatra’ will culminate at Janata Maidan, the venue of the Odisha government’s first-anniversary function. Mr Modi is scheduled to attend the function as the chief guest and address a public meeting. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to flag off new train services extending rail connectivity to Boudh district in Odisha for the first time, marking a historic moment for the district’s integration with the national railway network. In a major boost to clean energy and sustainable transport, the Prime Minister will flag off 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport system, supporting a modern, eco-friendly urban mobility network. Mr Modi will also release the Odisha Vision Document, which anchors around the landmark year of 2036, when Odisha completes 100 years as India’s first linguistic state. The vision document will outline an ambitious and future-ready roadmap for Odisha’s inclusive growth. As a tribute to the contribution of eminent Odias, the Prime Minister will launch the ‘Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana’ initiative on the occasion. It aims to transform their birthplaces into living memorials through museums, interpretation centres, statues, libraries, and public spaces honouring Odisha’s heritage while promoting cultural tourism. Mr Modi is also scheduled to felicitate women achievers from across Odisha to mark the celebration for more than 16.5 lakh Lakhpati Didis as symbols of prosperity and self-reliance in the state. Elaborate security arrangements have been made at Bhubaneswar for the Prime Minister’s visit.
