Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day tour to Tamil Nadu from tomorrow. The Prime Minister will be on a visit immediately after returning from his visit to the UK and the Maldives. During the visit, Mr Modi will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation various development Projects worth over four thousand eight hundred crore rupees at Tuticorin at around 8 PM tomorrow. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the New Terminal Building at Tuticorin Airport, developed at a cost of around 450 crore rupees. The airport is designed to meet the growing aviation demands of the southern region and enhance connectivity. 
In the road infrastructure sector, Mr Modi will lay the foundation stone of two strategically significant highway projects. The first is the 4-laning of the 50 km Sethiyathope-Cholapuram stretch of NH-36, developed at more than two thousand three hundred fifty crore under the Vikravandi-Thanjavur corridor. The second project is the 6-laning of the 5.16 km NH-138 Tuticorin Port Road, built at around 200 crore rupees.
 Mr Modi will also dedicate three key railway infrastructure projects in southern Tamil Nadu to boost sustainable and efficient connectivity. The projects include electrification of the 90 km Madurai-Bodinayakkanur line and doubling of the 21 km Nagercoil Town-Kanniyakumari section worth 650 crore rupees. The doubling projects of the Aralvaymozhi-Nagercoil Junction and Tirunelveli-Melappalayam sections will also be launched.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate North Cargo Berth-III at V.O. Chidambaranar Port, worth around 285 crore rupees. The terminal will help meet the growing demand for handling dry bulk cargo requirements in the region, improving overall port efficiency and optimising cargo handling logistics. Mr Modi will be further laying the foundation stone for a major power transmission project – the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), which has been developed at a cost of around 550 crore rupees.
