PM Modi addresses students in Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026, urging freedom from technology addiction, fearless leadership, smart learning, stress management and career clarity, while highlighting education, travel as learning, and tribal contributions to nation-building.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday delivered a powerful blend of practical advice, motivation and life lessons while interacting with students during the second episode of the ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026. As board examinations approach, the Prime Minister addressed concerns ranging from technology addiction and exam stress to leadership, travel, career choices and cultural pride.

Engaging students from multiple states through a live multi-city broadcast, PM Modi cautioned young learners against becoming “slaves of technology” and urged them to use digital tools mindfully. He emphasised that technology should strengthen abilities and sharpen skills, not dominate daily life or reduce independent thinking.

“Technology should expand your freedom, not restrict it,” the Prime Minister said, advising students to maintain balance and self-control while using gadgets. Excessive dependence, he warned, can limit creativity, concentration and personal growth.

Learning Through Travel, Not Sightseeing

Responding to a question on vacations and travel, PM Modi encouraged students to view travel as an extension of learning. He advised them to prepare lists of meaningful destinations within their own tehsil, state and across the country.

According to him, travel should be approached with curiosity and the mindset of a student, rather than casual sightseeing. Exploring history, culture, geography and local lifestyles can transform holidays into powerful learning experiences that nurture awareness and curiosity.

Fearlessness as the Foundation of Leadership

On leadership development, the Prime Minister stressed that fearlessness is the first and most essential quality. He encouraged students to act decisively, even when others hesitate.

“Leadership begins with courage,” he said, adding that small actions such as taking responsibility for cleanliness or helping others can inspire people around them. Once fear is overcome, leadership qualities naturally emerge, as others begin to follow positive examples.

Handling Stress Through Practice and Focus

Drawing parallels between exam pressure and high-stress national situations, including periods following major security incidents, PM Modi underlined the importance of preparation and practice in managing anxiety.

He told students that stress often fades once preparation is complete and focus is absolute. Writing practice, rather than passive reading, was highlighted as a crucial tool to reduce fear and build confidence.

“When the mind is fully engaged in the task, stress has no space to remain,” he said.

Nationwide Participation and Regional Inclusion

The session was broadcast live from multiple locations including Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Raipur in Chhattisgarh, Guwahati in Assam, Devmogra in Gujarat, and New Delhi. The multi-city format strengthened regional inclusion, allowing diverse student voices to interact directly with the Prime Minister.

Students from tribal regions of Gujarat’s Devmogra participated actively, welcoming PM Modi warmly and expressing pride in seeing him wear attire reflecting their traditional folk art.

Focus on Tribal Education and Nation-Building

During his interaction with tribal students, the Prime Minister reflected on his long association with tribal regions and the challenges they have faced. He recalled how experiences with hardship and famine shaped his understanding of the importance of education and infrastructure.

Highlighting progress in educational facilities, PM Modi said that regions once lacking basic institutions now host multiple science schools and learning centres, creating better opportunities for tribal youth.

“Education is the foundation of long-term development,” he said, stressing that strong infrastructure empowers future generations.

Career Choices, Culture and Values

Responding to questions on career selection, PM Modi encouraged students to pursue paths aligned with their aspirations rather than social pressure. He urged them to “learn to live in accordance with their dreams,” adding that passion and dedication are essential for success.

The Prime Minister also underlined the significance of teachers and parents in shaping lives, stating that every successful individual carries the influence of a guiding teacher and a supportive mother.

Tribal culture and heritage were celebrated during the session, with a Pithora Art painting presented to the Prime Minister by tribal artist Kishan Janabhai Rathava. PM Modi praised the community’s role in preserving nature, contributing to national defence, sports and cultural diversity.

A Growing National Movement

Launched in 2018 at Talkatora Stadium, Pariksha Pe Charcha has evolved into a nationwide movement. Registrations have grown dramatically from around 22,000 in its first edition to over 4.5 crore participants this year, surpassing previous records and earning global recognition.
