PM Modi will launch major Telangana infrastructure projects, including Zaheerabad Industrial Area and Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, aimed at boosting investment, textile manufacturing, connectivity, logistics, and employment generation across the state with projects worth Rs 9,377 crore.
A wide range of infrastructure, industrial, transport and energy projects worth nearly Rs 9,377 crore are set to reshape Telangana’s economic landscape as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits the state on Sunday to launch and inaugurate multiple high-value development initiatives.
The visit marks the Prime Minister’s first trip to Telangana after assuming office for a third consecutive term. The event will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Cyberabad and will be attended by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with senior state officials and ministers.
Among the most prominent projects are the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district and the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal, both expected to become major growth engines for Telangana’s industrial and manufacturing sectors.
The Zaheerabad Industrial Area is being developed under the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. Spread across approximately 3,245 acres, the industrial township is being built at a cost exceeding Rs 2,360 crore. Strategically located along National Highway-65, the project is expected to significantly improve connectivity to major ports, railway lines, airports and urban centres.
Officials believe the industrial zone has the potential to attract investments worth nearly Rs 10,000 crore while generating employment opportunities for around 1.74 lakh people. The township is designed as a smart and integrated industrial ecosystem with sustainable infrastructure and facilities aimed at supporting advanced manufacturing sectors.
The industrial area will primarily focus on logistics, automobile components, electrical and electronics manufacturing, machinery equipment, metal industries and food processing units. Authorities expect the project to emerge as a major industrial hub in southern India due to its multimodal connectivity and access to national transport networks.
Another landmark project to be inaugurated is the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, popularly known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. Developed under the PM MITRA scheme at an estimated cost of around Rs 1,700 crore, the project is considered India’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park.
The textile park has been conceptualised under the Centre’s “5F” vision — Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign — aimed at creating an integrated textile value chain within India. Officials say the project will play a transformative role in strengthening Telangana’s textile industry while helping India expand its global presence in textile exports.
The mega textile park is expected to create more than 24,400 jobs once fully operational. Around 2,000 people have already secured employment through the project during its initial development phases.
Located near the proposed Nagpur–Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway and close to National Highway-163, the textile park has been planned with strong logistics infrastructure to support domestic and international trade. It will feature a dedicated power substation, internal road network, assured water supply and advanced industrial facilities.
The project also places emphasis on environmentally sustainable industrial development. A Common Effluent Treatment Plant equipped with Zero Liquid Discharge technology has been incorporated to ensure eco-friendly waste management practices within the industrial zone.
Apart from industrial and textile initiatives, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of National Highway-167 between Gudebellur and Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad–Panaji Economic Corridor. The highway project, being developed at a cost of over Rs 3,175 crore, is expected to substantially reduce travel time and improve freight movement between Telangana and Karnataka.
Officials estimate that commuters will save nearly one hour and thirty minutes in travel time once the highway expansion is completed. The project is also expected to lower fuel consumption, reduce vehicle maintenance expenses and strengthen interstate industrial connectivity.
In the railway sector, projects worth approximately Rs 1,535 crore will be dedicated to the nation. These include multiple sections of the Kazipet–Vijayawada multi-tracking railway project spanning 118 kilometres. The expansion aims to increase rail line capacity on one of the busiest freight and passenger corridors in the country.
The railway upgrades are expected to improve train punctuality, reduce congestion and enable faster freight transportation across the region. Authorities believe the project will enhance operational efficiency while supporting industrial supply chains.
The Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass will also be inaugurated during the event. The bypass is designed to decongest the busy Kazipet Junction by allowing simultaneous train movement towards Hyderabad, Balharshah and Vijayawada. Railway officials say this will help minimise delays and improve network efficiency.
The Prime Minister will additionally dedicate Indian Oil’s Malkapur Terminal Project in Hyderabad to the nation. Built at a cost of over Rs 600 crore, the petroleum terminal has been developed to strengthen fuel storage and handling capacity in the region amid rising energy demand.

The terminal has a total storage capacity of 1,65,000 kilolitres and is expected to improve fuel supply management and logistics across Telangana and neighbouring states.
Government officials described the projects as part of a broader vision to accelerate integrated infrastructure development, improve logistics efficiency, strengthen industrial competitiveness and create large-scale employment opportunities across Telangana. The initiatives are also expected to support faster economic growth and enhance the state’s position as a key industrial and manufacturing destination in India.
