PM Modi will distribute over 51,000 appointment letters during the 19th Rozgar Mela held across 47 locations nationwide, reinforcing the government’s focus on employment generation, youth empowerment, and recruitment in key ministries and departments across India.
More than 51,000 newly-selected candidates will receive appointment letters on Saturday during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, a nationwide recruitment initiative aimed at expanding employment opportunities for young people across India. The appointment letters will be distributed through video conferencing, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the gathering virtually during the programme.
According to official sources, the Rozgar Mela will be organised simultaneously at 47 locations across the country. Candidates from different states and regions have been selected for appointments in several ministries, departments, and public sector organisations under the Government of India.
The newly-appointed employees will join departments including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Department of Higher Education, among others. Officials stated that the initiative reflects the government’s continued emphasis on strengthening employment generation and creating opportunities for the country’s youth.
The Rozgar Mela programme was launched as part of a broader effort to accelerate recruitment in government departments and reduce vacancies across various sectors. Since the launch of the initiative, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have reportedly been distributed through 18 editions of the employment fair held nationwide.
The event is expected to witness participation from thousands of newly recruited candidates who will formally begin their careers in different public service sectors. Authorities said the recruitment drive also aims to improve administrative efficiency by filling key positions in departments that directly impact public services and governance.
During the previous edition of the Rozgar Mela held in January this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of skill development, employment generation, and self-employment opportunities for young people. He had stated that empowering the youth remains one of the government’s top priorities and stressed the need for continuous efforts to connect skilled individuals with meaningful job opportunities.
The latest Rozgar Mela comes at a time when employment and youth participation continue to remain major areas of focus in national development policies. Government officials believe that large-scale recruitment initiatives can contribute significantly to economic growth while also encouraging greater participation of young professionals in nation-building activities.
