Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday described India as a country full of opportunities, driven by a unique balance of technological advancement and human values, while addressing the Indian community during an event in The Hague.
Speaking to a large and enthusiastic gathering, the Prime Minister said India is steadily emerging as an important global force in innovation, economic development, and international cooperation at a time when the world continues to face multiple crises and uncertainties.
“India is a land of opportunities, which is driven by both technology and humanity,” PM Modi said during his address, emphasizing that India’s growth model combines rapid digital transformation with inclusive development and social responsibility.
Referring to the changing global landscape, the Prime Minister stated that the current decade has become a period of serious challenges for many countries across the world. He pointed to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, economic disruptions, and increasing global instability as major concerns affecting nations worldwide.
“This decade is becoming a decade of challenges for the world,” he said, stressing the importance of stronger international cooperation and partnerships to effectively address emerging global issues.
Highlighting the growing relationship between India and the Netherlands, PM Modi said both countries are continuously strengthening cooperation in several critical sectors, including energy security, water management, sustainability, and technological innovation. He noted that India and the Netherlands share common priorities in dealing with climate challenges and ensuring long-term economic resilience.
“India and the Netherlands are steadily expanding cooperation in critical sectors such as energy security and water security,” the Prime Minister stated during the event.
He further said that the two countries could work more closely together on international platforms and collaborate on securing major global projects in the future. According to PM Modi, deeper bilateral engagement would not only benefit both nations economically but also contribute positively to global stability and development.
Speaking about India’s growing economic engagement with Europe, the Prime Minister highlighted the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement, saying the deal would further strengthen economic and trade ties between India and European nations.
He also described the Netherlands as a strategic entry point for Indian companies seeking expansion in European markets. “The Netherlands could become a natural gateway for Indian businesses looking to expand into Europe,” he remarked.
