The budget for the ST community has been increased many-fold than the previous Congress government. Students from the ST community have also been provided with scholarships. Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said this at Pursurah of Hooghly in support of the party’s Arambagh Lok Sabha constituency candidate today.
Mr. Modi said Bengal is a land of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar but today under the rule of Trinamool Congress education system has broken down here. Teachers recruitment scam in this state has maligned the reputation of West Bengal, he said. Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy belonged to this state but today medical infrastructure in West Bengal has dwindled, Mr. Modi added.
Mr. Modi will address another public meeting in Howrah. Earlier he also held two public meetings at Jagatdal of Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency and Chinshura of Hooghly Lok Sabha constituency.
