Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone of new Eklavya Model Residential Schools across the country including one at Purba Machli under Manu RD Block of Dhalai district through virtual mode from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on November 15 on the occasion of Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. MLA Sambhulal Chakma and TTAADC MDC Sanjoy Das were present in the foundation laying ceremony. It is worth mentioning that with the objective of ensuring quality education for tribal students living in interior areas, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India decided to set up more than 400 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools across the country by 2022. As a part of this, new Eklavya Model Residential Schools are being set up in Tripura also.
