Must Read

Emphasizing the importance of cyber security in generating employment, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated that it should be seen not only as a national security imperative but also as a pathway to employment and innovation for India’s youth. Inauguarting an advanced Cyber Skill Centre at suburban Mumbai in Kandivali the Minister said the initiative would help bridge the skills gap in the digital economy and support India’s goal of becoming a global hub for skilled manpower. Aimed at providing cyber security training to youth under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), the centre, set up in collaboration with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and Kyndryl Foundation, will offer hands-on training in cyberattack simulations, advanced cyber ranges, and industry-focused modules.

It is expected to train around 1,000 candidates annually, with a special focus on women. Referring to the centre as part of the broader “Skilled and Digital India” vision, Goyal said that such facilities are critical to expanding access to future-ready training, particularly in urban clusters like North Mumbai.

Addressing students, he urged them to dedicate a few months to intensive upskilling, noting that it could lead to better job opportunities and long-term career growth in the tech sector.
