In a dramatic turn of events Congress President Pijush Kanti Biswas, who had earlier resigned , withdrew his resignation. The decision was taken as said Biswas’s close confidante, at the  request of the party high command. Newly appointed Congress in charge of Tripura Ajoy Kumar from New Delhi spoke to Biswas and requested him not to take such step and told him that all his grievences would be seriously looked into. It was after his talks with Kumar Biswas withdrew his resignation. Earlier he had said he would not pursue politics for time being and devote time in his legal profession.
Congress Working Committee Member and party’s Tripura in-charge Ajoy Kumar said would visit Tripura on August 29 and would discuss with him to sort out the party’s organisational matter.
“During my discussion with Kumar, it was decided that I would go to Delhi to discuss with the central leadership to rejuvenate the party in Tripura,” Biswas said.
His sudden resignation had not only taken aback the Congress and other political parties but also triggered wild speculations. Some even speculated that he would join Trinamool Congress. However, the withdrawal of the resignation set all rumours at rest, at least for the time being.
