Indias most revered industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday night at Mumbais Breach Candy Hospital.

The former chairman of Tata Group and a national icon for his august bearing and exemplary business ethics was undergoing treatment at Mumbais Breach Candy Hospital after his admission there during the day. Following his admission his condition worsened and turned critical.

Ratan Tatas half-brother Noel Tata has been announced as the chairman of Tata Trusts.
