However, he is expected to return to play the remaining two Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar series.

The fast bowler was en route to Sydney on Sunday but is expected to be back in India to play the final two matches in Indore and Ahmedabad, the board said.

The next two matches will be played in Indore (Mar 1-5) and Ahmedabad (Mar 9 -13).

Indias three-match ODI series against the former World Champions will commence on Mar 17 in Mumbai.
