A Pakistani delegation has visited Kabul city to interact with Taliban rulers of Afghanistan over security-related matters, the countrys foreign office said on Tuesday.

The foreign officer of Pakistan tweeted: A high-ranking delegation led by the Minister for Defence is in Kabul today to meet with officials of the Afghan Interim Government to discuss security related matters including counter terrorism measures.

In photos released by the Afghan prime ministers office, the Pakistani delegation comprising Inter-Services Intelligence Director General LT Gen Nadeem Anjum, Foreign Secretary Asad Majeed Khan, Charg dAffaires (CdA) to Afghanistan Ubaidur Rehman Nizamani and Pakistans Special Representative for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq can be seen meeting Afghanistans acting deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar alongside Asif, reports Dawn News.

A statement from the Afghan Council of Ministers (prime minister) said the two sides discussed economic cooperation, regional connectivity, trade, and bilateral relations.

Pakistan and Afghanistan are neighbours and should have cordial relations. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wants expansion of commercial and economic relations with Pakistan as such relations are in the interest of both countries, the statement quoted Mullah Baradar as saying in a Dawn News report.
