Pakistan on Wednesday expelled Irans ambassador from the country after Tehran conducted missile and drone attacks which destroyed two strongholds of the terrorist group Jaish al-Adl in the border town of Panjgur in Balochistan.

Islamabad also recalled its envoy from Tehran.

Pakistan has decided to recall its ambassador from Iran and that the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan who is currently visiting Iran may not return for the time being, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said while addressing a press briefing in Islamabad as quoted by Geo News.

Pakistan earlier condemned Iran for violating Pakistans sovereignty and claimed two children were killed in the attack.

In its statement, Pakistans Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: Pakistan strongly condemns the unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran and the strike inside Pakistani territory which resulted in the death of two innocent children while injuring three girls.

This violation of Pakistans sovereignty is completely unacceptable and can have serious consequences, it said.

Pakistan described Irans action as an illegal act.
