Once upon a time film promotion was done through posters. People used to throng cinema halls after seeing big hand painted posters. With changing time and technology, this art of film promotion faded. To re-visit the era of film posters Tuli Research Centre for India Studies, TRCI organized a poster exhibition at the International Film Festival Delhi. The initiative has attracted significant attention through its special and rare collection of bygone golden era of Indian cinema.
Talking to Akashavani Founder TRCI, Neville Tuli said it is an unique work to compile so many artifacts at one place. Among the most emotional presentations at the exhibition was one of the greatest Indian films, “Mughal-e-Azam”. In addition to posters, the unique identity of Indian cinema-jubilee trophies-has also been exhibited in large numbers, including rare trophies for silver jubilee and golden jubilee of many films.
