Today is the 6th day of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The annual 38-day Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra that commenced on the 3rd of this month is going on smoothly and seamlessly, from twin routes of Nunwan Pahalgam Base Camp in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Baltal Base Camp in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The Holy Cave is known for the ice stalagmite that forms within, resembling a Shivlinga. The Cave is situated at an altitude of 12,756 feet, nestled in the Himalayas in the Kashmir region.

Akashvani Correspondent reports that with devotion and religious fervour, over 93 Thousand 300 yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine during the past five days. Every day, several thousand Yatris leave Jammu-based camps under multi-tier security cover all along the Srinagar Jammu National Highway till they reach their respective Base Camps in the Kashmir region safely.

Yatris from across the country feel elated and content with all kinds of arrangements, facilities and a secure environment in the Kashmir region. Lakhs of Yatris are expected to participate in the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra this year. TARIQ RATHER, Akashvani News Srinagar.
