Tragedy struck in the Goalabasti area of Agartala on Sunday night when a heated land dispute between two families escalated into a fatal clash, leaving one person dead and several others injured. The deceased, identified as Nagina Prasad, a 55-year-old milk trader and resident of Goalabasti, lost his life in the violent altercation.

Local authorities swiftly responded to the scene, deploying a significant police presence to maintain order and investigate the incident.

The dispute over land had reportedly led to the organization of a meeting aimed at finding a resolution. Unfortunately, the decision reached during the meeting was rejected by Nagina Prasad. In response to his dissent, members of the opposing family launched a brutal attack on him. The situation quickly escalated, with the use of sharp weapons and firearms.

According to the deceased’s son, the attackers used both sharp weapons and firearms during the confrontation. Tragically, Nagina Prasad succumbed to his injuries.
