Covid infection keeps on showing an ominous rise with as many as 214 persons being reported positive on Thursday.

Official records showed out of 1993 samples tested till Thursday morning 214 persons came out positive and the positivity rate stood at 10.47 per cent.
West Tripura district continued to be hotspot -alone registering 141 new positive cases . Adjoining district  Sepahijala followed with 17, 2 in Khowai, 18 in Gomati, 11 in South, 8 in Dhalai, 10 in Unakoti and 7 cases in North Tripura.
Now, the total number of active cases in the state has reached- 584.

In the meantime , administration was trying to enforce the Covid Appropriate Behaviour of CAB in the market areas where people throng most and the crowd remain for long hours. Officials said the administration would seek support from members of the public, organizations , clubs and associations to once again go whole hog creating awareness and in cases enforcing the Covid guidelines.

On Thursday itself the state administration called upon the market committees to ensure that both buyers and sellers maintained Covid protocols strictly. Sub-divisional Magistrate (Sadar), Asim Saha in a meeting with All Tripura Merchant Association and all the bazar committees appealed the traders to use their authority to enforce masks, sanitization and proper physical distance.

The SDM said people in large numbers gather market places everyday. Hence, it is important to follow Covid protocols in the markets.
He emphasized on displaying ‘No Entry Without Mask’ in the entrance of every shopping mall in the city. He also stressed on spreading awareness through miking in the market areas.

Saha sais, soon the civil administration would reach out to the local clubs requesting their support and help as they did in previous waves.
