NSE and BSE Hold Muhurat Trading Session on Diwali

Must Read

Stock exchanges NSE and BSE will conduct a special Muhurat trading session today to mark the festival of Diwali. The symbolic trading session will be held between 1:45 pm and 2:45 pm. The Muhurat trading session also marks the beginning of the new Hindu financial year, Vikram Samvat 2082, that starts on Diwali. The NSE Nifty and BSE Sensex indices ended at an over one-year high on the last day of Samvaat 2081 yesterday.

It is believed that trading during the ‘Muhurat’ or auspicious hour brings prosperity and financial growth for the stakeholders. Market analysts say that Diwali is considered an auspicious occasion to begin new ventures, and many investors believe participating in the Muhurat trading session brings prosperity throughout the year. The tradition is deeply rooted in cultural and religious beliefs, where traders and investors worship Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, seeking prosperity for the year ahead.

Muhurat trading session is often filled with optimism and festive cheer as both retail and institutional investors participate actively, leading to higher liquidity and trading volumes. As the markets light up this Diwali, Muhurat trading 2025 is expected to once again reflect the spirit of prosperity, optimism, and new beginnings for India’s investing community.
