Soon after international flights from MBB airport starts operation, connecting foreign land also via road from Tripura will be a part of PM Narendra Modi’s HIRA initiatives, said Union Minister for State Pratima Bhowmik.
While attending the first flight in Integrated International MBB Airport on Saturday the Union Minister said, one international road from Udaipur via Sonamura to Comilla in Bangladesh will come up shortly. India and Bangladesh have already agreed on the matter.
She said, already land assessment and other related grounds works for this ambitious international road have been completed. under the PM Narendra Modi’s initiative several steps relating to the HIRA model haven been taken and the state is going to get their fruits soon.
‘It is from here at MBB airport that international flights to Dhaka, Chittagong and one more flight to Bangkok via Guwahati will soon take place. The intenational flights will be operated as soon as the airport will be officially declared ‘international airport’ by competent authority formally’, she said.
The first filght that arrived at the new terminal building at 10.30 am belonged to Indigo. Water cannon salute was accorded on Saturday after the first flight with 143 passengers . A brief cultural function and a famous Hojagiri tribal folk dance was staged by the tribal women artistes on the occasion.Bhowmik welcomed the first passengers and also later in the same flight to went Imphal.
