I never imagined that I would be here talking about 24 Slams. I never thought that would be the reality, but the last couple of years I felt I have a chance, I have a shot at historyand why not grab it if its presented, he said.

After a smooth first set, the arena witnessed the two players sweat it out in the second which lasted for one hour and 44 minutes.

Djokovic looked physically troubled in the second set but showcased his perfect skills to win the title.

Medvedev, who was brilliant from the baseline, continuously tested the Serb with his incredible depth and persistent power.

However, Djokovic remained in control mostly of the match giving a strong response to Medvedevs best attacks.
