Nine Indian Fishermen Attacked by Sri Lankan Pirates Near Nagapattinam –

Nine fishermen in two boats from Nagapattinam were brutally attacked by Sri Lankan pirates today when they were fishing near Seruthur at the Bay of Bengal. The fishermen were beaten up and their nets were destroyed and the GPS equipment was snatched by them. The Indian fishermen were later admitted to the hospitals at Nagapattinam. The fishermen demanded action by the Centre and the State Governments.
