The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a Letter of Award for the construction of a four-lane expressway from Vadhavan Port to Tava Village on NH-48 in Maharashtra. Connecting the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and NH 48, the expressway will provide seamless port connectivity to various regions in the state. The four-lane alignment of the access-controlled expressway will be expandable to eight lanes in the future. The port will have a natural draft of 20 metres and will be operational in two phases. Once completed, the access-controlled expressway will boost regional connectivity, lower logistics costs and support long-term economic growth while providing faster port connectivity in the region.
