By-polls: Liquor shops to remain closed
In order to ensure smooth conduct of the bye-elections in 6-Agartala and 8-Town Bordowali Assembly constituencies, all English and local liquor shops, bars, Foreign Liquor Warehouse in these two constituencies and Agartala Municipal area will remain closed on June 21, 2022 to June 23, 2022 and June 26 . The order was issued by the Collector of West District in accordance with the sub-section of section 24 of the Tripura Excise Act 198 and section 164A (k) and 193A of the Tripura Excise Rules 1990.
Forest Awareness meet held
: Van Mahotsav and forest awareness programme was held at Mungiakami H.S school on 17th June. The event was organized by the forest department and the school eco-park club. B.K Agarwal, Chairman, State Pollution Control Board, inaugurated the event organised by Tripura State Pollution Control Board and local Naba Chintan Welfare Society. Mungia kami BAC chairman Sunil Debabarma, member secretary Bishu Karmakar, sub-divisional forest officer Subir Kanti Das, school headmaster Manoj Debbarma and others were present. At the meeting, the guests spoke on forest creation and forest protection.
Workshop on tribal folk dance
A 7-day workshop on tribal folk dance has started recently at Bharat Sardar Higher Secondary School in Tulashikhar block with the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs department, Khowai sub-division office. The workshop was inaugurated by the Head Master of the School Niren Kumar Debbarma.
After inaugurating the workshop, he lauded such kind of workshop being conducted to expand folk dances among the tribal students. Well known Folk Artistes Sachindra Debbarma and Samarjit Debbarma. Welcome speech was delivered by Senior Information Officer of ICA department, Khowai sub-division office Dulal Debbarma.
The workshop will continue till June 22. The workshop is being managed by well known local artist Samendra Debbarma.
Administrative cum health camp
An administrative cum health camp was held recently at Bheluyarchar Gram Panchayat office of Boxanagar block. The camp was organized with the initiative of Sonamura sub-division administration. Sonamura Sub-Division Magistrate Maniklal Das, BDO of Boxanagar block and officials of different departments were present in the camp. ST, SC and OBC certificates were given to 152 persons in the camp. Apart from that, income certificates were given to 72 persons and marriage certificates were given to 33 persons. Blood tests were done on 40 persons along with health check-ups in the camp. Free medicines were also given to the patients. 312 domestic animals were checked up in the camp with the initiative of the Animal Resources Development Department.
Meeting for Bankim Jayanti
A preparatory meeting was held recently at the conference hall of Khowai Zilla Parishad for Khowai District-Level celebration of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Jayanti. The meeting was organized by Information & Cultural Affairs department, Khowai district office and was presided over by the Chairman of District Cultural Advisory Committee and Sabhadhipati of Khowai Zilla Parishad Joydeb Debbarma.
He hoped for everyone’s cooperation in peaceful and successful conduction of District-Level celebration of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Jayanti.
It was decided in the meeting that his Jayanti will be celebrated on June 26 at the premises of Kohinoor Complex. The programme will have cultural events. Others present in the preparatory meeting were Member of the District Cultural Advisory Committee Dipankar Bhattacharjee, Senior Information Officer of ICA district office Biswajit Banik and Senior Information Officer of ICA sub-division office Dulal Debbarma.
