Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane said his US visa, needed to play the T20 World Cup, has been rejected.

He was found guilty of raping an 18-year-old woman.

However, the conviction was overturned last week.

According to reports, he was initially removed from the team for the T20 World Cup squad.

The tournament will be played in the USA and West Indies this time.

He posted on X: And the @USEmbassyNepal did it again what they did back in 2019, they denied my Visa for the T-20 World Cup happening in USA and West Indies. Unfortunate. I am sorry to all the well wishers of Nepal Cricket.

Following the rape accusations, the cricketer was removed as the Nepal teams skipper in September 2022.

He made a controversial return to the Nepal side in February 2023 following his release on bail for their matches against Scotland and Namibia, reported BBC.
