The State Government has taken initiatives for economic self-reliance of farmers in the agricultural sector of rural areas during the last three and half years, said Agriculture minister Pranajit Sinha Roy today while inaugurating a District level Mushroom Seed Production Centre at Krishak Bandhu Kendra and Krishi Anchalik Office at Gamai Bari and Brahma Cherra respectively under Teliamura subdivision.
The Minister said, District level Laboratory for Mushroom Seed Production Teliamura will help the women to become self-reliant through the cultivation of Mashroom. They can earn Rs.10,000 per month.
He said, such Laboratories have been constructed in all the eight districts of the State. Singha Roy also said the market of the product has been expanded abroad. He further added that the markets for pineapple, lemon, jackfruit had also expanded and these products were exported to the U.K., Germany, Qatar, Dubai and Bangladesh.
Among others Chief Whip of state assembly Kalyani Roy, MLA Atul Debbarma, MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury, Sabhadhipati of Khowai Zila Parishad Joydeb Debbarma attended the programme.
