In the Women’s Premier League (WPL) Cricket, Mumbai Indians stormed into the final with a dominant 47-run victory over Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai last night.

With this win, Mumbai set up a thrilling title clash against Delhi Capitals tomorrow.

Batting first on a fresh pitch, Mumbai posted a massive total of 213 for 4 in the stipulated 20 overs.

Opener Hayley Matthews scored 77 runs off 50 balls, while Nat Sciver-Brunt matched her with 77 runs off just 41 deliveries.

A quickfire 36 from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, coming off just 12 balls, further powered Mumbai to their formidable total.

In response, Gujarat Giants faltered despite some resistance from Danielle Gibson and Phoebe Litchfield. They were eventually bowled out for 166 in 19.2 overs.

Hayley Matthews starred with the ball as well, taking three wickets and earning the Player of the Match award.

This victory sets up a rematch of the inaugural 2023 WPL final between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. While Mumbai emerged victorious in that clash, Delhi has beaten them twice this season.
