External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw are attending an event in New Delhi ahead of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025.
Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan and the host state Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis are also present at the event, which is intended to reach out to the global community. Through the event, the government aims to highlight the transformative potential of WAVES as a unified global platform for the rapidly growing media and entertainment sector. More than a hundred ambassadors and high commissioners are participating in this event.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vaishnaw said the world is rapidly changing, as is the audio, video, and entertainment landscape. He stated that Prime Minister Modi suggested a platform for content creators. The first edition of the WAVES Summit is scheduled to be held from May 1st to May 4th in Mumbai.
