Mukesh Nelavalli clinched gold in the men’s 25 meters pistol event, while Tejaswani Singh secured silver in the women’s category, as India topped the medals table at the ISSF Junior World Cup at New Delhi today. Mukesh, the reigning junior world champion in this non-Olympic event, delivered a stellar performance, adding a rapid-fire score of 296 to his 289 from the precision stage to finish with 585 points. Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN), Aleksandr Kovalev took silver with 577, while India’s Sahil Choudhary bagged bronze at 573. India concluded the event with 19 medals in Olympic disciplines (6 gold, 8 silver, 5 bronze) and added 7 more (2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze) in non-Olympic events. AIN placed second overall with 10 medals, and Italy followed with five. Athletes from eight nations medaled across seven competition days, with five countries, India, AIN, Italy, Croatia, and Czechia, securing gold.
