MTSOU and Ravindranath Thakur Mahavidyalay (RTM) signed an MoU to strengthen academic collaboration through research, digital learning, faculty development, internships, and skill development programmes, supporting NEP 2020 goals while enhancing higher education quality, knowledge exchange, and student employability in Tripura.
Mata Tripura Sundari Open University (MTSOU) and Ravindranath Thakur Mahavidyalay (RTM), Bishalgarh, have entered into a significant academic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting research, digital learning, faculty development, and student-focused educational initiatives.
The MoU was formally signed on Thursday by MTSOU Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Ghanshyam Singh and Ravindranath Thakur Mahavidyalay Principal-in-Charge Dr. Tanmoy Brahma in the presence of faculty members and officials representing both institutions.
According to university authorities, the agreement establishes a comprehensive framework for long-term academic cooperation designed to enhance the quality of higher education in Tripura. The collaboration will focus on blended and digital learning, joint research projects, faculty development programmes, academic seminars, conferences, internships, and skill development initiatives that will benefit both students and educators.
Officials stated that the partnership is intended to facilitate the exchange of academic expertise, institutional resources, and best practices between the two institutions. By working together, MTSOU and RTM aim to create a more dynamic learning environment that supports innovation, research excellence, and practical skill development while preparing students for emerging career opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, MTSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Masood Parveez said the collaboration reflects the university’s commitment to expanding access to quality higher education through strategic institutional partnerships. He noted that the initiative aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages academic collaboration, multidisciplinary education, research, and skill-oriented learning.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that the partnership would open new academic avenues for students while providing faculty members with opportunities for professional development, collaborative research, and knowledge sharing. He added that such collaborations are essential for strengthening the state’s higher education ecosystem and promoting academic excellence.
University officials further explained that the MoU provides a structured mechanism for implementing joint academic and research activities while encouraging continuous interaction between students, teachers, and researchers. The agreement is also expected to contribute to capacity building by enabling faculty members to participate in collaborative projects, workshops, and training programmes.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to effectively implementing the provisions of the agreement through mutual cooperation and sustained academic engagement. They expressed optimism that the partnership would significantly contribute to improving educational standards, enhancing student employability, and fostering innovation in higher education across Tripura.
