On the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Sansad Mega Health Camp was organized at Mohanpur Swami Vivekananda College on Friday.
The camp was organized at the initiative of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and saw doctors from various reputed hospitals of Delhi and the State Health Department rendering health services to as many as 1186 people from the neighboring areas, including Mohanpur.
Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath, who addressed the inaugural ceremony, said that three such Sansad mega health camps had been organized in the state so far. He explained that the objective of this camp was to provide better health services to the poor people, and MPs were organizing such health camps with this objective in mind.
Nath thanked Deb for organizing the health camp in Mohanpur, which was attended by several dignitaries, including former Chief Minister and incumbent Rajya Sabha MP, who visited the camp and underwent an eye examination. He stated that since 2014, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, health services had been given special priority in the entire country. Cluster planning was being done with emphasis on citizen health, the benefits of which were reaching the last person in society.
The health camp was also attended by Mohanpur Municipal Council Chairperson Anita Debnath, Vice Chairperson Shankar Deb, Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Reena Debbarma, Mohanpur SDM Subrata Bhattacharya, West Tripura district Chief Health Officer Dr Debashis Das, and others.
