A MoU has been signed to build a Medical College in PPP model in the state’s only Aspirational district, Dhalai. Different MoUs of total 312 crore 38 lakh rupees have been signed with 8 industrial organizations at round table conference of investors organized today at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala, informed Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha in a press meet called regarding possible industrial investment after the round table conference of investors at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala today. He informed that these investing organizations have shown interest in investing in Kumarghat, RK Nagar, Sabroom and in Dhalai district. Most significant one is – MoU signed for approx 247 crore rupees with Daton Natural Resource Private Limited for building a Medical College in PPP model in Aspirational district, Dhalai. Investors from the state, outside the state and about 141 investors from Bangladesh took part in the conference today. The Chief Minister informed that more investors have shown their interest for taking part in the conference which is why the state government has made several arrangements. He informed that the state government has taken initiatives to attract investment to the state in various fields starting from State Capital Investment Subsidy, subsidy in industrialization, subsidy in electricity tariff, subsidy in employment etc.

The Chief Minister also informed, establishing an industry requires modern communication system and infrastructure. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central and state government is working towards improving the communication system and infrastructure. The state is now ahead in all sectors such as National Highway roads, railway, waterway and internet. He said, there is a huge scope for industry in Tripura in natural resources and tourism. Tripura will become gateway of South-East Asia in future. The Chief Minister hoped that as a result of these industrial investments, Tripura’s socio-economic condition shall improve and generate employment opportunities. Other dignitaries present in the press meet were Industry & Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Chairman of Tripura Industry Development Corporation Nabadal Banik, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, DoNER Secretary Lokranjan and Special Secretary of Industry & Commerce department Abhishek Chandra.
