Mohanlal returns as Georgekutty in Drishyam 3, where hidden secrets, rising tension, and renewed police suspicion threaten his family’s fragile peace in Jeethu Joseph’s much-awaited thriller releasing worldwide on May 21.

The much-awaited trailer of Drishyam 3 has finally been unveiled, bringing back Mohanlal in his iconic role as Georgekutty. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the upcoming thriller promises another emotionally charged and suspense-filled chapter in one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated crime drama franchises.

The newly released trailer opens with Georgekutty sitting at home alongside his wife and daughters. The family appears calm and hopeful, believing that their troubled past involving police investigations and murder accusations is finally behind them. They feel society has accepted them once again after years of scrutiny and suspicion. However, Georgekutty himself remains deeply uneasy.

The trailer subtly hints that danger is far from over. Even though the family is trying to move forward peacefully, Georgekutty continues to live in fear of making a single mistake that could destroy everything he has protected for years. His expressions and tense silence suggest that another major threat may soon emerge.

Without revealing key plot twists, the makers have carefully built suspense around Georgekutty’s next challenge. The atmosphere throughout the trailer remains dark, emotional, and mysterious, keeping viewers guessing about what lies ahead in the story.

Drishyam 3 has been directed by Jeethu Joseph, the filmmaker who created the original cult classic. The movie has been produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. It is being presented by Jayantilal Gada through Pen Studios and Panorama Studios.

Apart from Mohanlal, the film features several familiar faces from the earlier installments. Meena returns as Rani George, while Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil reprise their roles as Georgekutty’s daughters, Anju and Anu. Asha Sharath will once again appear as Geetha Prabhakar, and Murali Gopy joins the cast as IG Thomas Bastin IPS.

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 21 and is already generating massive excitement among cinema lovers across the country.

The Drishyam franchise has enjoyed extraordinary popularity ever since the first film was released in 2013. The original movie became a landmark success in Malayalam cinema and emerged as the highest-grossing Malayalam film at the time. Audiences praised its gripping screenplay, emotional storytelling, and unexpected twists.

Following the success of the first film, Drishyam 2 was released in 2021 and continued the story of Georgekutty and his family. The sequel also received critical acclaim and strong audience support for maintaining the suspense and emotional depth of the original film.

Over the years, Drishyam has expanded far beyond Malayalam cinema. The story has been remade in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Sinhala, and Chinese, making it one of India’s most successful film franchises internationally.

Before the trailer launch, director Jeethu Joseph shared insights about the storyline of the third installment. According to him, the movie explores Georgekutty’s life nearly four-and-a-half years after the events of the previous film.

“The film focuses on what happens in Georgekutty’s life after four-and-a-half years. That is the crux of the story,” Joseph said while speaking to the media.

With suspense building rapidly and fans eagerly waiting for answers, Drishyam 3 is expected to become one of the biggest thriller releases of the year.
