The Mizo Cultural Meet 2025 in Jampui Hill celebrated unity and heritage through vibrant performances, traditional songs, and cultural pride. Organised by Tripura YMA and Mizoram Art & Culture Department, it showcased Mizo harmony, tradition, and the spirit of “Tlawmngaihna.”

The serene Vanghmun playground in Jampui Hill came alive with colours, music, and festivity as hundreds gathered for the grand Mizo Cultural Meet 2025 on Friday. The event, jointly organised by the Tripura Group YMA and the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Mizoram, showcased the rich cultural heritage and unity of the Mizo community. The event was financially supported by the Mizoram government.

The day-long celebration featured a spectacular line-up of folk, traditional, and contemporary Mizo songs and dances, delighting audiences from across the hill and beyond. Attendees, young and old, dressed in vibrant traditional attire, transforming the venue into a lively sea of colours and cultural pride.

Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, C. Lalsawivunga, Minister of Art & Culture, Mizoram, lauded the Mizos of Tripura for their commendable contributions to cleanliness, socio-economic progress, peace, and harmonious coexistence—qualities, he said, that set a benchmark for other communities in Tripura.

In his address, the minister urged the community to continue strengthening their moral and ethical foundations, excel in education, and foster a strong work culture rooted in the spirit of “Tlawmngaihna”—the cherished Mizo ideal of selfless service and sacrifice. He also called upon the youth to embrace technology responsibly, ensuring that the digital age does not erode the community’s cherished values and traditions.

Lalnunmawia, the Deputy Director of Art & Culture, Mizoram, in his remarks, elaborated on the department’s ongoing initiatives to preserve, promote, and propagate Mizo arts, traditions, and cultural identity—both within Mizoram and across the global Mizo diaspora.

Lalnunfima, President of Tripura Group YMA, extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, well-wishers, and particularly the Government of Mizoram for their unwavering support and collaboration in making the event a grand success.

On the side-lines of the cultural meet, leaders from major Mizo civil society organisations—including the Tripura Group YMA, Mizo Convention, MUP, and MHIP—held discussions on strengthening ties between the Mizos of Tripura and the wider Mizo diaspora. The meeting underscored a shared vision to enhance unity and cooperation for greater achievements in education, culture, and social development.
