Cooperative Minister Ram Prasad Paul inaugurated an ambitious 2000-liter -bulk Milk Cooling Unit at Kalyanpur on Saturday. Chief Whip Kalyani Roy, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, CMD of Gomati Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd Alok Ranjan Sen and other dignitaries were present at the programme.
The minister said the objective of Cooperative formation is to harness the economic prosperity of society through the development of individuals.
Even as a small cooling unit was set up in Kalyanpur earlier, it was not enough. As a result, milk producers of Kalyanpur were incurring losses. Milk would become sour even before reaching markets for sale.
“I got the information that a large quantity of milk is wasred before reaching markets only due to lack of cooling facility. The newly installed bulk milk cooling unit would be a boon for the milk producers of the area”, Paul asserted.
On the first day after the inauguration, more than 2000 liters of milk from different milk cooperatives in Khowai district arrived at the facility.
The Minister also said the incumbent government is offering different opportunities so that people can become self-reliant.
“It is not possible to give jobs to everyone – however, BJP-led government is working to create earning opportunities and pave the way to become Atma Nirbhar”, he commented.
Chief Whip Kalyani Roy said Kalyanpur is fast improving and it has already become a Mini Town. She hailed the decision of setting up the cooling unit in Kalyanpur and expressed hope that milk producers of the Khowai.
In his speech, local MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury thanked the Gomati Milk Union and the State government for the Milk Cooling unit. He exuded confidence that the Dairy industry in Khowai will flourish.
