Migrant Workers from Bihar Head Home from Tamil Nadu to Celebrate Chhath Puja

In Tamil Nadu, several migrant worker families from Bihar are heading back to their hometowns to celebrate Chhath Puja. Through special trains from Bengaluru and Chennai, they are heading towards home for the three-day celebration. Many of them work in the construction sector and live near their worksites in Chennai and other cities.
Hundreds of them are also employed in Tirupur’s textile industries. Their children study in local schools to access better education.
 
 
Meanwhile, the Bihar Chaupal Association in Chennai is planning to celebrate Chhath Puja locally as well, with special prayers to be performed at Marina Beach.
