The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today appointed the Director General of Police (DGP) R R Swain, who was holding additional charge of DGP J&K as the full-time DGP of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that RR Swain is currently holding the additional charge of DGP J&K. As per the order issued by the Under Secretary to the Government of India, MHA, Swain is appointed to the post of DGP of J&K with effect from the date of assumption of charge and till 30-09-2024 or until further orders whichever is earlier. Swain, who has been serving in an additional capacity, will officially assume the role effective immediately.
