Must Read

In Badminton, Star Men’s Doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have stormed into the semifinal of World Championships in Paris, assuring India of a medal at the tournament. The World Number 9 thrashed second seeds Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia, 21-12, 21-19, in the quarterfinals.

Earlier, Satwik and Chirag had won a bronze at the 2022 World Championships in Tokyo. Their medal also ensured that India’s streak of winning a medal at every World Championships since 2011 remained intact. The Indian duo will now take on World No.11 Li Yiu and Bo Yang Chen of China in the semifinal today.

Meanwhile, PV Sindhu’s quest for a sixth World Championships medal fell short as she went down against Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani  14-21, 21-13, 16-21 yesterday. Earlier, India’s mixed doubles duo Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila had bowed out in the quarterfinals.
