Even National Conference president Farooq Abdullah is also expected to take part in the yatra when it enters Kashmir.

I am happy to say that Farooq Abdullah ji, Omar Abdullah ji, Mehbooba Mufti ji, and Tarigami ji all are ready to join this yatra. That is the happiest moment for all of us, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal told reporters here.

The week-long program will start in Jammu and Kashmir on Jan 22 and culminate on Jan 30, he said.

The yatra, suspended for nine days of year-end festivities, will resume on Ja 3 from the Delhi-Uttar-Pradesh border and reach Kashmir by the month-end.

Farooq Abdullah said that he would welcome the yatra at Lakhapur on the border of Jammu and Kashmir when it enters.

Later, Omar Abdullah said when party president Farooq Abdullah announced participation, everyone from the party will attend.

In Uttar Pradesh, none of the key opposition parties is likely to attend even as the Congress had extended an invitation to the Samajwadi Party, Jayant Chaudharys Rashtriya Lok Dal and Mayawatis Bahujan Samaj Party.
