A preparatory Meeting held at the conference hall of Kamalpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate recently for district-level celebration of 108th birth anniversary of Adwaita Malla Barman.
Dignitaries present in the meeting were Sabhadhipati of Dhalai Zila Parishad Rubi Gope, Sahakari Sabhadhipati of the Zila Parishad Anadi Sarkar, Chairpersons of Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat, Durga Chowmuhni and Salema Panchayat Samiti (RD Block), Kamalpur SDM Abhijit Chakraborty and officials of different departments of Dhalai district and Kamalpur sub-division.
It was decided in the meeting that like previous year, this year also district-level celebration of 108th birth anniversary of Adwaita Malla Barman will be organised by the Department of SC Welfare in association with District Administration, Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samitis, synthesizing with the State-Level programme. The programme will be organised at Salema Town Hall in Salema RD Block under Dhalai district for two days i.e., on January 6, 2022 and January 7, 2022.
The dignitaries in the meeting discussed and shared their suggestions. The inaugural programme will begin at 2 pm followed by seminar on the birth anniversary of Adwaita Malla Barman. A cultural programme will be organised on the second day as a tribute to the late author. Besides that, food, decoration, clean drinking water, electrification, illumination, security etc., were also discussed in the meeting. A review meeting in this context will be held on January 3, 2022 at the office of Block Development Officer, Salema RD Block, Dhalai district.
