Agartala Police issued traffic restrictions for Mayer Gomon 2025 on October 4, including no-vehicle zones, no-entry points, emergency corridors, and designated parking areas to ensure safe idol immersion processions and smooth movement for patients and passengers.

In view of the grand immersion processions for Mayer Gomon 2025, the Traffic unit of Agartala Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure public safety and smooth conduct of the festivities. The restrictions will particularly affect roads leading to Dashamighat, where thousands of devotees will converge to bid farewell to Goddess Durga on Vijaya Dashami.

No-Vehicle Zone for Immersion Route

According to the advisory, from 2:00 P.M. on October 4, 2025, vehicular movement will be prohibited on the stretch between Lions Gate (Ujjayanta Palace) and Dashamighat. The restricted route will pass through Jackson Gate, Kaman Chowmuhani, Surjya Chowmuhani, Post Office Chowmuhani, Paradise Chowmuhani, and Battala. The roads will remain closed for normal traffic until the immersion processions are completed. These areas will be exclusively used for idol immersion activities.

Locations Under Complete No-Entry Restrictions

In addition to the main immersion route, the Traffic unit has also declared several important junctions and roads as no-entry zones during the immersion hours. These include:

  • Nagrejala, Battala, Dashamighat, Joypur, Auguntak Club, Joynagar Office Lane, Fire Service Chowmuhani, IGM Chowmuhani, Birendra Club Junction, Gandhighat, RMS Chowmuhani, Madyapara Road, Orient Chowmuhani, Jackson Gate, Gol Bazar, Lalmaitya Crossing, Netaji Chowmuhani, Old Motor Stand, Ganaraj Chowmuhani, Women’s College, Town Hall, RS Bhavan Crossing, and BK Chowmuhani.

These closures are expected to divert regular city traffic, and citizens are advised to plan their movement accordingly.

Emergency Routes for Patients and Passengers

To avoid inconvenience for critical commuters, special emergency corridors have been designated. Patients, air passengers, and railway passengers will be allowed to use these routes, provided they carry valid proof such as medical documents or travel tickets.

  • From TMC Hapania to IGM/GBP/ILS Hospitals:
    Route 1: Hapania → AD Nagar → Flyover → IGM → TRTC → BK Chowmuhani → Colonel Chowmuhani → Haradhan Sangha → North Gate → Radhanagar → Murtiprangan → GBP Hospital/ILS.
Route 2: Hapania → AD Nagar → Flyover → Fire Service Chowmuhani → Ker Chowmuhani → Sankar Chowmuhani → Haradhan Sangha → North Gate → Radhanagar → Murtiprangan → GBP Hospital/ILS.

  • From GBP/ILS Hospitals towards IGM/Hapania TMC:
ILS/GBP → Murtiprangan → Radhanagar → North Gate → Haradhan Sangha → Colonel Chowmuhani → Sankar Chowmuhani → Ker Chowmuhani → Flyover → AD Nagar.

The advisory further specifies that airport and railway passengers must keep valid boarding passes or tickets and display the sticker “Airport and Railway Passenger” on their vehicles to access routes to and from the airport and railway station without restrictions.

Designated Parking Zones

Authorities have earmarked specific areas for parking to reduce congestion near immersion routes. The VIP parking zone will be inside the Ujjayanta Palace compound, while parking for the general public will be available at:

  • IGM Chowmuhani

  • RMS Chowmuhani

  • Orient Chowmuhani

  • Jackson Gate box culvert

  • Battala TRTC Complex

  • Under Flyover (pillar 38 to 42)

  • Gandhighat to Ramkrishna Mission stretch

  • Gangail Road

  • Behind East Agartala Police Station up to Mahanamangan

Appeal to Citizens

The Traffic unit has appealed to citizens to cooperate with the restrictions, avoid unnecessary travel on immersion routes, and follow instructions issued by traffic personnel. With thousands of devotees expected to participate in the Mayer Gomon 2025 immersion, the measures have been put in place to ensure smooth traffic flow, safety of devotees, and hassle-free access for emergency services.
