As the Diwali festival approaches, the premises of Matabari Temple are undergoing a transformation with innovative decorations and extensive preparations. A preparatory meeting was held at the community hall of Matabari RD Block to ensure the success of the festival.

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, local MLA, Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Debal Deb Roy, District Magistrate and Police Superintendent attended the meeting.

The meeting aimed at ensuring a grand spectacle for devotees who travel from distant places, including neighbouring Bangladesh.

With devotees travelling from far and wide, including neighbouring Bangladesh, over 2,000 shopkeepers will set up their stalls at the fair. In addition to the bustling market, several cultural programmes featuring artists from various parts of the state will grace the occasion.

Preparations have already commenced, and various areas, including Udaipur Railway Station, Dhanya Manikya Mukta Manch, Temple Square, and the fairgrounds, are being inspected by the police administration.

The opening ceremony will take place at the Dhanya Manikya Mukta stage, located at the north-east corner of Kalyan Sagar, which is currently undergoing decorative enhancements. LED screens and promotional screens of state tourism centres will be set up at the fair for the convenience of visitors.

During the three-day Diwali Mela, devotees will not be allowed to take baths in the Kalyan Sagar Dighi, with the district police administration overseeing this matter.

The fair will be adorned with seven large welcoming gates at various locations, including Udaipur Ramesh Chowmani, Netaji Subhash Setu, Brahma Bari, Matcha Factory, Nava Shakti Club, the area between Chandrapur and Matabari in front of the CNG Station, and the National Highway. A grand gate will also be placed in front of the Loknath temple.

The new decorations and preparations aim to make this Diwali festival and fair a resounding success, providing visitors with a memorable and vibrant experience at the Matabari temple premises.
