Marathi Vultures top the GI-PKL 2025 points table with a dominant 52-35 win over Haryanvi Sharks. Tamil Lions and Punjabi Tigers also secure crucial victories as the kabaddi league heats up in Gurugram. Catch all the action live on Sony Sports 3 and FanCode.

The ongoing Global Indian Pravasi Kabaddi League (GI-PKL) witnessed a high-octane day of action in the men’s section on Thursday at Gurugram University, where the Marathi Vultures delivered a dominant performance to top the points table with 13 points. Close on their heels are the Punjabi Tigers with 12 points, while Tamil Lions hold the third spot with 10 points.

The day kicked off with a tightly contested battle between Tamil Lions and Bhojpuri Leopards. Despite Bhojpuri’s impressive 15 tackle points and three Super Tackles, it was the Lions’ raiding brilliance and a crucial Super Raid that tipped the scales. Holding their nerves in the final minutes, Tamil Lions emerged victorious with a slender 35-33 margin.

In the second clash, Punjabi Tigers took on Telugu Panthers in what turned out to be a high-scoring thriller. The Tigers dominated with 20 raid points and an equally robust 19 tackle points. They forced six all-outs, showcasing a level of control and coordination that kept Telugu Panthers at bay, ultimately sealing a 47-39 victory.

However, the highlight of the evening came in the third match where Marathi Vultures soared past Haryanvi Sharks with a commanding 52-35 win. The Vultures displayed an all-round masterclass, racking up 33 raid points, 12 tackle points, and executing six all-outs. Their relentless offense and solid defense left little room for a Sharks comeback.

Adding to the electric atmosphere, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, Ajay Kumar, and Brigadier S.K. Sareen of the Indian Army attended the event as chief guests. They felicitated the Players of the Match and commended the athletes for their dedication and high-energy performances.

“I’m truly delighted with the incredible performance of the players. Watching them go all out on the mat, displaying such passion and dedication, fills me with immense pride,” said Ajay Kumar during the felicitation ceremony.

The action continues Friday with matches in the women’s division as the league heads into a crucial weekend. Haryanvi Eagles will take on Marathi Falcons, Telugu Cheetahs face Bhojpuri Leopardess, and Punjabi Tigress go up against Tamil Lioness.

All matches begin at 6:00 PM IST, broadcast live on Sony Sports 3 and FanCode. The league stage concludes on April 27, followed by the men’s semifinals on April 28 and the women’s on April 29. The grand finals for both categories are scheduled for April 30.
