In shooting, Paris 2024 medallists Manu Bhaker and Swapnil Kusale will lead India’s 40-member contingent at the ISSF World Championship Rifle and Pistol 2025 in Cairo, Egypt, starting today.
Indian shooters have been in top form this year with winning many medals in World Cup events across Buenos Aires, Lima, Munich, and Ningbo.
Two-time Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker will spearhead the pistol team, joined by Esha Singh and Suruchi Singh.
In the rifle events, 2022 world champion Rudrankksh Patil returns in the 10-metre air rifle, while Swapnil Kusale competes in the 50-metre rifle three positions.
The squad also features experienced shooters, including Elavenil Valarivan, Sift Kaur Samra, Arjun Babuta, Anish Bhanwala, and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar.
The championship will host 720 shooters from 72 countries at the Egypt International Olympic City and will run until the 17th of this month.
