Charilam, Nov 10: Bishalgarh police arrested the prime accused of Manti Debnath murder case.
The housewife was allegedly burnt alive by her husband and in-laws early on wee hours of Tuesday.
The accused- Chandan Debnath (34) of Goutam Colony in North Charilam under Bishalgarh police station was arrested on Thursday on the charge of killing his wife.
Bishalgarh police registered a case Under Section 498(A)/304(B)/506/ 34 of IPC in this connection and initiated a probe into the incident.
After preliminary investigation, police nabbed the main accused on the basis of a complaint of the deceased’s father.
The accused was produced before the court of Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate on Thursday.
The court sent the accused to judicial custody for 14 days and allowed the investigating officer for interrogation on the first three days.
